Praetorian Aeronautics

Praetorian Aeronautics was one of my first major attempts at 3D. Using Blender, and supplied 3D models from the client, I textured, lit, and added decals to each of their drone products to be used on their fresh website. From there, I used Adobe After Effects to make colour and further compositing adjustments for final export.

Liaising with the design and development team, we landed (mind the pun) on efficient ways to make dreams a reality. We started with the hero animation for the home page. Using a PNG sequence I exported, the developers load the subtle animation of the drone ‘gliding’.

Further down on the site, there are interactive 3D models of their two other products. The user can click and drag to rotate the models around in 3D space. This was done by animating the drone to rotate 360° over 36 seconds, in a 1 FPS timeline. This gives it a satisfying notching effect.

You can check out the website they built here.
